Mi Barrio

No tengo mucho que contar, pero si os quereis dar una vuelta por mi barrio...

Mi casa no tiene N-A-D-A que ver con estas "casitas", debería ir a llevarles una tarta, a ver si me invitan a tomar el té o a bañarme en la piscina :)

My house has nothing to do with those above. I should knock on their door with a delicious cake and see if I am invited to have a cup of tea or a swim in the pool :)

The Little Van That Could

Hablando de espacios bonitos (como la boda de Emily) os presento a (traducido) "La pequeña caravana que pudo". Ella va allá donde le llaman y alegra el día a personas como yo. Monique, la dueña de esta pequeña servidora de limonada y te, iba conduciendo tranquilamente hasta que una especie de caja amarilla con un tejado rojo le llamo la atención, no pudo resistir retroceder para observarla mejor. Enseguida se puso en contacto con los dueños para comprarla, a pesar de no tener ni idea de donde la iba a guardar, ni que iba a hacer con ella.

Parece ser que en el pasado, además de vender donuts, solía estar en el circo. Monique pensó que era una lástima que quedará en el olvido, por eso decidió aventurarse con ella. Se mueve por encargo, bien para fiestas de cumpleaños, bodas, mercadillos etc. Vende limonada y té y como es de Adelaide, es decir de donde vivo ahora, tengo la super suerte de verla a menudo ^-^. Por ejemplo, ahora se encuentra en una parcela que han trasformado a cuenta del Fringe, el festival de arte de Adelaide, y comparte espacio con otro projecto que se llama The Vinteloper Urban Winery Project (proyecto de una bodega urbana). Por lo tanto, que vas con unos amigos que no quieren té o limonada, pues se toman unos vinos de la zona y todos contentos :) os ha gustado la idea? yo quiero una caravana!!



Talking about beautiful spaces (like Emily's wedding) I want to introduce "The Little Van That Could". It goes everywhere they call her and she makes people happy, as it does to me. Monique, the owner of this little lemonade and tea servant, was driving along, when a shinny yellow box with a red roof caught her attention, she could not resist to turn back and have a proper look. She contacted the owners as soon as she could and she bought it even though she had no idea where was she going to put it and what was she going to do with it. 


Apparently, in the past they use to sell donuts and it use to be in the circus, how amazing! Monique thought it was a shame to leave it there, so she decided to start an adventure an bring it back to life. You can hire ir for birthday parties, weddings, markets etc, She sells lemonade and tea, and as she is from Adelaide, the same city as I am living at the moment, I am so lucky to see it very often. For instance, this month it is staying at The Vinteloper Urban Project. Therefore, if it happens that your friends don´t feel like having tea or lemonade they can taste some local wine at the same time as you are enjoing a cup of tea. Don´t you love it? I want a caravan know!!

Emily & Trent's Wedding

Perdooon!! Lo se, he tardado demasiado en revelar el secreto. Ya esta claro ¿no? Fue nuestro regalo de boda para Emily y Trent. Emily junto con Carolina era mi compañera de las tardes de domingo donde nos juntábamos cada vez en una casa para coser o tejer y como no, para comer dulces y beber te. (Les echo tanto de menos...) Desde el día que nos dijo que estábamos invitados a su boda, tuve claro que le iba a hacer una manta, lo demás ha ido saliendo según la marcha.

Arriba podéis ver los detalles de la boda. Me EN-CAN-TO. No esperaba menos de ellos la verdad, ya que ella es diseñadora gráfica y el está dentro de la industria de la moda, no hay nada mas que ir a su casa para ver como cuidan los detalles. La boda fue  en una galería de arte con un estilo campestre y comida mediterránea. Comimos jamón, paté y quesos!!! mmm Gorka y yo devorábamos!! era un festival de olores y sabores que nos recordaban a casa. Y el postre?? nada de tartas, helados!! cucuruchos para exportar y los servían desde el carrito azul que podéis ver. Y para beber? Vinos y Estrella Dam!! ai como recordaba mis años en Barcelona. Les daba gracias todo el rato, les decía que parecía que me había transportado a España! jeje. Yo siempre decía que no me iba a casar, pero algo así no me importaría...


I am so sorry, It took me too long to reveal the secret. In case it is not clear yet, the blanket was a wedding present for Emily and Trent. Emily was one of my crafternoon friend as well as Caro. We use to meet everytime in different houses to sew or knit and of course to eat sweets and drink tea. (I miss them so much :(. So since the day they gave us the invitation, I knew I was going to handmade something for her, the rest is history.


I L-O-V-E-D the styling. To be honest, I wasn´t expecting less, as she is a graphic designer, he is working on the fashion industry and their house is full of details and good design. It was a country style inside an art gallery and mediterranean food. We ate jamón, paté and lots of cheese!! We couldn´t stop eating everything was delicious. The dessert was much better than a cake, there was a trolly full of icecream!! And there was plenty of wine and a beer from Barcelona. I couldn´t belive it, I remembered the years living in Barcelona. After this experience I might change my mind of getting married ;)
